A Brief Overview of Engine Options for the Jaguar F-Type

The F-Type sits atop the Jaguar lineup when it comes to performance. Its two-door design, rear and rear-wheel drive drivetrains, and wealth of helpful technologies make it a potent performer. But it's what under the hood that really defines the F-Type.

The F-Type relies on Jaguar's Ingenium engine lineup for power. From spritely turbocharged four-cylinders to brutally powerful V8s, these engines give the F-Type performance numbers to contend with the world's finest.

2.0-Liter Turbocharged 4-Cylinder: The base engine for the F-Type is a turbocharged four-cylinder unit. Don’t be fooled by its smaller size -- this engine still produces 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque with the help of forced induction.

3.0-Liter Supercharged V6: Two versions of this engine are available. The first offers 340 horsepower, 332 pound-feet of torque with a zero-60 mph sprint time of just 5.1 seconds. Another version of the engine bumps power to 380 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque. This engine allows the F-Type to run from zero to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds.

5.0-Liter Supercharged V8: The 5.0-liter V8 brings the F-Type into supercar territory. The lower output unit makes 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque. Choose the F-Type SVR and you'll get the more powerful 575-horsepower version.
